F.A.Q.

  • So how does all of this work?
You choose what package you want and the amount of time you want them available. Then pick the games you would like at your event (if choosing video games, make sure to choose each console platform and game to play on it). We bring out the games and equipment on the day of, set it all up for you and your guests, and help make sure it is running properly during your event, as well as answer any questions. All you have to do is enjoy!
  • What do you need from me to setup?
We will work with you to figure out the best areas to setup each game to maximize your space, preferably prior to the event if possible. On the day of the event, we will setup, maintain, and breakdown all of the games and equipment. Depending on the location and existing setup, we can provide needed tables or, if preferred, use what is already available. We will work with you to decide which would be best for your location.
  • How does pricing work?
We have a number of packages that are based on how many games you would like to have and how much time you will need our services. We also have Expansion Packs to add additional games to your chosen package if needed. Contact us to discuss what would work best for your event.
  • What kinds of games can I choose?
We have a large selection of video games on multiple platforms including retro and current generations systems. Also available is our custom built arcade cabinet you can chose as well that contains a number of classic games, as well as some recent games. We also have a number of board and card games, both new and classic titles.
  • What types of games do you recommend?
While we have a wide variety of game types available, we recommend choosing games that encourage players to play together. A lot of video games these days are designed to have one person playing per screen. This doesn’t really contribute to a party experience, so we encourage you to choose games that will allow multiple players per screen. This will contribute to the experience of being in an arcade type of environment.
  • What types of games are available?
Video games from the 80s to now, from Atari to Xbox, are available to choose from. Card games and board games range from pre-school appropriate to classics you grew up playing. We also have a custom build arcade machine we offer as an option that can play a variety of games, new and old.
  • Can I choose a specific game?
Absolutely! When you choose your package, you select the games you want. We have our current stock of board and card games listed, as well as the video game platforms we have and some suggestions of games on each to chose from (many more are available as well). If there is a game you want you don’t see listed, let us know and we’ll do our best to acquire it.
  • What makes PlayTyme different than a game truck?
Game parties with PlayTyme provide more gaming options than you can get with a game truck. We have more video game platforms, from retro to current systems (including our custom built arcade cabinet), as well as board and card games. Our setup provides a more spacious area to play, as you are only restricted by your own party space. Your guests will have a more social atmosphere than they can get in a game truck. If the party is for kids, parents will easily be able to see what the kids are playing and doing.
  • What if we need help with a game?
Our staff will be there for the duration to assist you and your guests with the games throughout your time with us.
  • Will weather be an issue?
Unless there is weather that would cause a safety risk to travel in, weather will not be an issue. While we can accommodate outdoor events, our setup is designed to be indoors, so you will be able to have your event rain or shine.
  • Do I have to pay in advance?
A deposit is required to book your date. The remaining balance is due three (3) days before the event.
  • How long is setup/breakdown?
It really depends on which and how many games you choose. On the average, one hour of setup time will be sufficient. Breakdown will take roughly about the same amount of time or slightly less.
